Steve started writing games on the Spectrum when he thought that games should include 3D viewpoints, nearly all games at the time were 2-dimensional. Steve teamed up with Andrew Braybrook who started off converting his titles to the Dragon then the Commodore 64. Both Andrew and Steve had several hits and went on to form Graftgold. They beacame well known for both original product and accurate arcade conversions such as Rainbow Islands. Graftgold continued producing games for a host of publishers including Hewson, Telecomsoft, Microprose, Activision , Virgin Games, Renegade,Warner Interactive.
Graftgold became part of the Perfect group in 1996 but were shut down 2 years later before completing their final product "Hardcorps" a 3d tank combat game. Steve took part in all roles over the years including Games design, programming, sound, music, graphics and managing. At the moment he programmes commercially for a company producing insurance software but still program games in his spare time. Maybe the future will see him returning to the industry. He still has too many ideas to program.
Steve Turner's first video game work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1983 title, "3D Seiddab Attack" (Spectrum 48K) as Lead Programmer.
Steve's most recent involvement was as Project Leader/Producer on the 1996 release "International Moto X" (PlayStation).
