Summary

Diablo III has had such a long life of new content and expansions that it's difficult to call the Eternal Collection THE ultimate edition, but it's certainly ram-packed with enough content to keep you crawling through dungeons for weeks. The first Diablo was the definitive action RPG for a generation, and Diablo III certainly builds on that legacy.

The Diablo series, for those entirely new to it, is known for its loot collection and character building. It's an isometric dungeon-crawler that has you inching your way through a variety of demonic (and less demonic) environments doing battle and gathering what you need to keep on leveling up to get powerful enough to win the day. You get a ton of choice in how you want to fine-tune your character.

As well as the base game, this Eternal Collection packs in the meaty Reaper of Souls expansion with a whole extra campaign and environments, as well as a new character class, the Crusader. Then the Rise of the Necromancer brings in another class, the Necromancer, as well as handy additions like extra character slots and cosmetic items such as the Wings of the Crypt Guardian.

For players on the Nintendo Switch there's a big (if somewhat obvious) advantage to this particular version of Diablo III - it's the first chance players have had to play it on the go!
