Summary
Destiny 2: The Forsaken marks a big step in the life of Bungie's epic sequel. Not only is it the first full-on expansion, following DLC packs Curse of Osiris and Warmind, it also kicks off Year 2 of the game with new destinations, a new raid, a new mode and new supers. Destiny 2 is going to feel different going forward, and The Forsaken is where it all starts.
Following a jailbreak by eight Barons at the Prison of Elders, you and Cayde-6 are charged with hunting down the escapees and returning law and order to The Reef. When Cayde-6 ends up paying the ultimate price, it's on you to avenge him and bring justice into a lawless section of space.
The new region you'll be exploring is The Tangled Shore, a lawless frontier of tethered asteroids that reeks of the Old West - albeit in an environment that wants to kill you. Far from the eyes of Vanguard and Awoken authorities, it's a teeming hive of outlaws and pirates, making it a perfect place to test out the new super abilities, weapons and gear you'll collect.
Not only do you get new content, you also get something you won't have seen anywhere else in Destiny's solar system or any other. Gambit is a unique hybrid game mode that brings together the best of PvE and PvP modes into something new. Two teams of four enter separate but identical arenas and fight tooth and claw with enemy combatants. Collect the motes your enemies drop, bank them and then send powerful blockers to hinder the efforts of the other team, then ultimately invade the enemy side...
