You're tied to a corpse tree, waiting under the baking desert sun to die. You can practically smell the vultures circling. Then, fate intervenes. A stranger, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer cuts you down, gives you your freedom. This is Conan, and you're an exile now.

Picking up the online barbarian mantle from Age of Conan is Exiles, a new game that sets you loose to explore Hyborian Age. You'll roam sweltering deserts, vast mountain ranges and treacherous swamps as you try to make your way in this dangerous, bloody world. Giant insects, floating tentacled monsters and murderous frost giants are abroad in the world, but perhaps the greatest threat comes from the environment itself, or the other players that inhabit it...

Conan Exiles is part RPG, part survival game. The climate will affect your chances of success, with the hot deserts driving you mad with thirst and the snowing mountains making you mad with hunger. Conan might be able to survive bare-chested on a glacier, but if you don't dress appropriately you won't last long. To build the tools and resources you need to make it in the Hyborian Age you'll need to craft and grow, not to mention build yourself a mighty fortress to defend against powerful deities and deadly players.
