Summary

Koei Tecmo's Warriors (or, if you prefer, Musou) games have never quite achieved the level of popularity in the West that they enjoy in their native Japan, but Nintendo is certainly giving the series a chance to shine. First we got Hyrule Warriors, a widescreen action game that combined large-scale hack 'n' slash action with strategy and, of course, the Legend of Zelda universe. Now, following in the game's footsteps, we have another crossover in the form of Fire Emblem Warriors.

Heroes from across the universe collide, with characters from across the series' history such as Chrom, Corrin, Ryoma, Marth and Xander clashing with wave after wave of enemy soldiers and fierce monsters. Players will be able to unleash over the top Dynasty Warriors-style moves as they battle the endless hordes in a bid to save the day.

Omega Force and Team Ninja haven't just stuck a Fire Emblem skin on a Dynasty Warriors game and hoped for the best, however. They've thoughtfully taken elements of the regular series and found ways to build them into Fire Emblem Warriors. You can, for example, issue orders to units from the grid-based map screen and switch between active characters at the push of a button, while the weapons triangle makes and appearance and must be taken into account when going up against certain units.

Fire Emblem Warriors takes to much loved series, brings them together and sheds light on both in the process.
