Summary

With a new generation of Microsoft's motion-sensing Kinect camera on the market, it was only a matter of time before Ubisoft got a new fitness game out for it, and so we have Shape Up.

Kinect 2.0 is more precise than it's predecessor, and that can only be a good thing for those wanting to get fit in front of their Xbox One. It gets better readings than ever on your movement, and can also scan people in order to put you in the game.

Ubisoft hasn't simply taken one of its Your Shape games and plonked it on the Xbox One, though. The developers over at Ubisoft Montreal have done everything they can to make Your Shape's workouts fun in order to make users work harder. So, if you're tired of the same old workouts you might want to try punching out asteroids for a bit of cardio or squatting your way to the moon to get a really good burn going.

The game's rePlay functionality means you can record yourself in order to compete against your past self in workouts, or you might want to take things online to challenge friends.

The benefits don't stop when you leave your living room, though. There's a web service and companion app to go with the game, so you can keep on top of your training plan even when you're away from the Xbox.
