Summary
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a new addition to entertainment generally and not simply to video games. A rhythm game, it brings the most popular musical pieces from the history of the entire Final Fantasy series and enables gamers to become immersed in them.
Developed by rhythm game veteran developer Indies Zero, the game comes with more than 70 musical scores spanning the full 25 years of the classic gaming series from first Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy XIII.
The music is matched by Final Fantasy themed (but new) environments, as well as movie cutscenes from the original games.
Gamers are able to bring together four of the all-time great Final Fantasy heroes in a variety of gameplay stages, each of which features a different gameplay mechanic. They must tap along to the rhythm to complete three different stage styles: Field, Battle, and Event. Difficulty levels from beginner to master are also included to enable gamers of all abilities to join in.
The "Challenge Mode" takes the play up a notch as the player selects from the Battle, Overworld or Dramatic music from a Final Fantasy game that they have beaten in normal mode. This mode also comes with a "No Fail" practice option.
There is also "Chaos Tower" mode with 99 levels, each of which has two stages with field music and then battle music. Each level has three possible bosses. Chaos Tower also feature songs from Final Fantasy games that do not appear in other areas of the game.
Characters can be levelled up enabling the player to unlock new music, movie scenes and more.
