Summary
Eve Online is a massively multiplayer game, set in a vast galaxy, tens of thousands of years into the future. With tens of thousands of subscribers all over Planet Earth (and maybe beyond...who really knows?) there are lots of people to meet.
The game was originally released in 2003 and this will be the second re-release that aims to expand the reaches of the Eve universe further. The focus on this new boxed edition is accessibility for new users - the Commissioned Officer Edition comes complete with a CD key for starting a new account, plus 30 days of paid game subscription time plus an introductory Eve poster. Starting your first character will earn you a new item, the Cerebral Accelerator, which can be used to increase your pilot’s skill development.
With around 250,000 players in one universe (on one server!) Eve Online enables players to build their own story, that a rookie pilot of a basic starship in a huge new world, through to the day when you fight the big battles for your own corporation, in a fight against the tyranny of supposedly more powerful factions.
Whatever profession you choose for your character - commodities trader, mercenary, industrial entrepreneur, pirate or mining engineer, or indeed any combination of these and more, there is no level cap, and no limit to your skills. Strategy and tactics - and great big spaceships - are what Eve Online is all about. Go get immersed in another world.
