It's not often that puzzle games are associated with dark and twisted storylines, but Puzzle Chronicles puts the genre through its paces by fusing quickfire, addictive gameplay with a combat RPG mechanic. When wrapped around an ancient empirical plot such as this, you have one interesting combination for both the adventurer and the puzzle fanatic.

Set in the lands of the Asharin Empire, you fight alongside your fellow tribesmen as you challenge the might of the Empire. Fierce beasts and formidable warriors await you on your quest, but you have a new method of combat up your sleeve that the enemy is not expecting. Using various kinds of puzzles, you need to chain combos that will let your character attack in real time.

The better you are at linking through various combos, the bigger your attacks and the more successful your adventure. Hidden treasure and equipment can be found in the overworld. As you progress, you get to level up and improve your statistics, adding more role playing elements to the mix.

When you're tired of exploring, there are five mini-games that you can play which will help you unlock items and provide enhanced abilities. And these carry through to every mode you play – whether it's single player, versus or quick battle, you control the same evolving, persistent hero. more
