Nickelodeon cartoon All Grown Up follows the continuing adventures of the babies who featured in the delightful 90's series Rugrats. The series features Tommy, Chucky, Phil, Lil, Angelica and other characters at Junior High School, ten years on from where the original Klasky-Csupo animation left off, and is in fact originally based on a Rugrats episode where they advance into the future using a time machine.
The game, a side-scrolling adventure, follows Angelica as she tries to get to the bottom of a number of mysteries. Angelica has not changed much since the days of the original series shes very bossy and thinks she knows it all, she even has her own agony aunt website called Ask Angelica. Shes also a reporter for the school newspaper, hence her professional interest in the various mysteries, which range from a UFO sighting to the object of a crush Chucky has (but on who?). You must help Angelica get the story she needs. The different levels are based on different episodes from the series.
The game gives players the chance to customise the menu screens with their favourite of eight All Grown Up characters, and then unlock clothes, backgrounds, accessories and music as they proceed through the game. There are seven mini-games to unlock and enjoy, four of which can be played with two players. The game also - interestingly - contains a personal organiser, which you can use to save information about you and your friends, as well as plan your schedule for the weeks ahead. Information and accessories can be swapped using GBA link cables. Theres even a test you can take to find out which character from the series you are most like. A host of interesting features and well thought out gameplay means that fans of the series get a game that hasnt just tried to rip them off.
