Summary

As you may have already guessed from the title, this real-time strategy sim is set during the time of one of England's longest reigning monarchs, Queen Victoria. As such, the game's concept - treading a similar path to other Paradox Entertainment-developed titles such as Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis - sees you endowed with the task of achieving global supremacy during the 19th Century.

The game focuses on six different aspects of governing a nation, which are interconnected in order to provide in-depth, yet easily manageable gameplay: Diplomacy, Warfare, Economy and Industrialisation, Colonisation, Technological Research and Politics. The ultimate goal is to achieve the heights of becoming one of the eight great powers of the era, which can be accomplished by spanning the globe to become the dominant empire of the period.

Victoria places strong emphasis on recreating world history, but it does this according to your wishes so, while the game strives to simulate the conditions and pre-requisites of the particular era as closely as possible, it actually leaves all the decision making to you.
