Summary

Creator of the well known London Racer and USA Racer games, developer Davilex has taken the unusual step of producing a game based upon beach buggies. Named Beach King Stunt Racer, the company’s latest offering combines off-road racing with some outrageous stunt driving akin to Team 17’s Stunt GP.

Taking to the beaches of a glamorous coastal resort, players are charged with the desirable task of winning over the hearts of resident beach babes by proving themselves king of the beach in an unrealistic yet highly entertaining stunt-based game.

A game that isn’t that dissimilar from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, you must hop in your souped-up buggy and negotiate myriad rooftops, ramps and obstacles with flair to obtain the best scores. The better you perform the quicker your points accumulate. There are some 12 extensive arenas to compete in, that take place across four stunt racing hot spots – Ibiza, Rio de Janeiro, St Tropez and Bali. Each of the sunny locales looks vibrant and colourful, and there’s a subtle cartoon-like style to the game, offering exaggerated stunts and numerous graphical effects to boot.

There are four beach jeeps, quads and buggies to control, and some of the game’s outlandish stunts include back-flips, solar kick-flips and twisted impossibles. You’ll have to play the game yourself to uncover everything Beach King Stunt Racer has to offer. It has to be said, it’s not quite Gran Turismo, but it makes a refreshing change from the norm.
