Summary

There certainly must be something uplifting about working in relaxing surroundings, because this latest PlayStation 2 game from developer FarSight - based in the exceptionally scenic Big Bear Lake, California - has no death, doom or destruction to speak of; no guns, grenades or Gestapo - it's just a nice, inoffensive puzzle game. And all really quite pleasant.

The titular 'Mojo' refers to your energy, which makes up one of the key elements to the proceedings. As you play through the 3D block based puzzles, this energy drains with each move you make, meaning that you must be both shrewd and skilful in order to navigate the game's unique chain of puzzles and survive to the legendary 100th stage.

The game is based across three different worlds: The Spheres, a highly energised space realm; The Skies, a surreal cloud world; and The Seas, an island based affair, where terrain and topography become critical to the gameplay. As well as these different levels, Mojo! Also comes complete with a 3D puzzle editor, which allows you to create, save and swap your own custom stages.

As far as visuals are concerned, Mojo! is leaps and bounds ahead of your average puzzle game, delivering lush, detailed environments that serve to further immerse you in the mind-bending action. With the inclusion of both a single and multiplayer battle mode, the game is certainly worth a look at under twenty quid.
