Summary

It is the future. You live in a world where gigantic robots, piloted by humans, wage technological warfare in a winner-takes-all scenario. Yes, it's a 2D beat 'em up of Japanese origin, but one that moves ever so slo-o-o-o-owly, thanks to the sheer size of the mobile suits that your chosen character controls. What these suits lack in sprightliness, they make up for in brute force, and your skills as a pilot and as a fighter are going to be put to the test. There are more than 30 of these suits to choose from. Hmm, these pilots must have enormous wardrobes.

Gundam Battle Assault 2 features three different storylines: G Gundam, Gundam Wing, and Mobile Suit Gundam, and six battle modes. As Burning Gundam in the first episode, you're a martial arts specialist in search of your brother. Then, as Heero Yuy in Gundam Wing, you must attempt to destroy Treize Khushrenada. Finally, use Gundam RX-78, the mobile suit to end all mobile suits, to wage war against the Principality of Zeon. It all adds up to lots of heavy metal thrashing around, louder and even more colourful than any version of Street Fighter at full volume. If you have a hankering for just a brief burst of action rather than the full Gundam experience, then there are Time Attack and head-to-head battles on offer. These modes are also the ideal place to get some practice in.

Based on the hugely popular Japanese anime series Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Battle Assault 2 proves once and for all that the bigger they are, the harder they brawl. Ho-ho!
