Another Star Wars video game from Activision and LucasArts, Knights of the Old Republic once again brings Star Wars into the virtual world, this time as a role-playing game. Its a light saber extravaganza of galactic proportions, you know. In a galaxy far, far away
Taking place long before the Galactic Civil War, an epic drama begins set in the Golden Age of the Republic, more than 4,000 years before the first Star Wars film. With the Galaxy reeling from a recent conflict with the Dark Lords, the ongoing battle between the Jedi and the Sith rages on. Your actions determine the outcome of this colossal galactic war and your destiny as a Jedi.
Venturing into the 3D LucasArts world, players familiar with the Star Wars epics will quickly stumble across recognisable film locales. The game spans some ten worlds, including Tatooine, Sith and the Wookie home world, as well as several all new areas.
Commanding a party of three Star Wars characters, youll engage in battle after battle against the enemy, gaining experience as you progress. As you overcome the games many obstacles, your party of three will continually evolve into more powerful, smarter, fighters. Your party is fully customisable and can include humans, droids and Wookies, to name but a few.
The game world itself, complete with glowing light sabers and myriad evil cohorts, looks lovely and is well suited to the Xbox platform. All in all, a fine virtual Star Wars experience.
