Sheep. We breed them, we eat them, we wear them, and now we can play with them. Yes, Empires weird Sheep game is coming to a Game Boy Advaaaaance near you!
Kind of like a top-down version of Lemmings with sheep substitutes and a cursor for a dog, you play as the sassy Bo Peep, charged with herding fields upon fields of fluffy animals from one destination to the next. But these aint no ordinary green-grass landscapes, and all is not what it seems in the land of Bo Peep.
You see, in this particular game, the sheep are actually aliens that have forgotten their past in favour of grazing on the rich, green pastures of Earth. But now, the age of electrified fences and pylons threatens their very existence, so you must herd them back to their own planet, or at the very least, get them to their spaceship!
Sheep, like most other puzzlers, is very simple in the beginning, but as you progress, new obstacles make their appearance and make the game as a whole a little more challenging. The trick with Sheep is to guide the herd through what is effectively an obstacle course at a slow pace. Moving too fast will result in stray sheep leaving the pack, which makes your task much more difficult. Conveyor belts, electric fences and other non-friendly props make reaching a destination far more challenging.
Excelling in certain levels will give bonus points that allow you to unlock hidden levels later in the game. Sheep is a strangely compelling 'Lemmings-em-up' that deserves a few hours of anyones time. Just beware of Mr Pear and his evil hench-cows of death!
