Like most sports games, the object of the American Football is to score points. The team with the highest score at the end of the fourth quarter is the winner. To score points, a team must carry the ball from one end of the pitch to the opponent’s endzone to score a touchdown. A team has to advance at least ten yards in four attempts if they don’t want to give away possession of the ball. If you are new to the game, the practice mode familiarises you with both the rules of the game and the controls.
The PS2 version of Madden NFL 2002 features brand new face and body technology to ensure the game characters look identical to their real-life counterparts. Hundreds of additional frames of animation have also been added to increase the smoothness of the players' movements. NFL 2002 has dedicated widescreen television output to display even more of the action simultaneously.
Because this game is an officially licensed product, all of the 2002 season data is accurate and up to date. All of the recent player purchases, sales, and transfers are represented exactly as they should be. The most exciting addition to the line-up is the new expansion team, the Houston Texans. How well this new team fares in the new season is up to you.
