ESPN X Games Skateboarding from Konami, developed for Game Boy Advance, is bringing handheld sports games up to scratch in a highly advanced playing experience. This latest release in the long running ESPN series gives players the opportunity to realise their skateboarding fantasies in an all-new pseudo 3D world.
Visually, ESPN X Games Skateboarding is highly polished. The game is well presented, with a series of stylish menus, detailed playing environments, good character animation and some nice additional touches such as lens flare.
But youll forget all that once you get into the game proper. After selecting one of ESPN X Games Skateboardings several modes of play, including Free Ride and Tournament, you must choose from a variety of well known professional skateboarders. Chris Senn and Chad Fernandez are but a few of the rad dudes available for selection.
When youre ready, you can choose a location and skate to your heart's content. However, when playing in a competitive mode, your ultimate goal is to impress the judges. You are marked on your general ability to stay on the board, the complexity of the tricks you perform and the quantity of tricks you successfully execute. Given practice, your performance will hopefully give you an unbeatable score.
ESPN X Games Skateboarding is that simple. Now, go grind, man!
