Summary

Yup, it’s another Konami basketball game, and it’s called ESPN NBA 2 Night 2002. It’s all just a bunch of letters and numbers, really. It’s on PlayStation 2 and it’s a direct follow up of 2001’s NBA 2 Night for the same platform.

There are several reasons why NBA 2 Night is a great sports title for all video games players, and not just Americans. Firstly, it plays extremely well and has an improved and refined control method; commanding a team of big-handed, lanky athletes quickly becomes second nature.

ESPN 2 Night 2002 boasts support for a maximum of eight-players via a couple of lovely multi-taps, making multi-player gaming a must. You simply can’t appreciate everything NBA 2 Night 2002 has to offer without a few competitive or co-operative multi-player games.

Graphically speaking, this game is very similar to its predecessor. A few creases have been ironed out, but it’s pretty much the same. The original looked pretty fine though, so we’ve no gripes regarding NBA 2 Night 2002’s aesthetics.

ESPN is a top name when it comes to basketball and Konami is a top name in the video games world. It’s a great combination, and it shows in the finished NBA 2 Night 2002 game. This is a serious, action-crammed basketball simulation that will blow you away.
