Summary

The very first strategy epic has landed on the PlayStation 2, introducing, Ring of Red from respected publishers Konami. In the year after America dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, chaos ensued. After World War 2 Japan faced enormous political and economical turmoil, the country was split into three factions. A cold war erupted and all three sides focused military development on gigantic, destructive Mech warriors.

In Ring of Red you play the role of Weizegger, a half-German, half-Japanese captain. You must venture deep into to the heart of enemy territory and recover secret mechanoid technology. Your decisions and tactics will be crucial to your faction’s campaign success.

Ring of Red is game designed for gamers that prefer to use their heads instead of their reflexes. The majority of the game is story based, driven by menus. In true let’s divide the playing area into small squares and only be able to move so many squares at a time fashion, Ring of Red is one of those games.

Once you are close enough to another mechanoid, the game cuts to a close combat action sequence. Picking the most effective weapons and judging the correct distance is the only way to win. You can even call in your close by mechs for some double team fighting action.
