Real-time strategy games have always been most popular on the PC format, perhaps due to their mouse and keyboard compatibility. Keeping with tradition, JoWood has released Thandor: The Invasion, an epic game of war and peace. As a key figure in the battle for the planet, you are the last chance of hope. It is your task to reunite all former allies and launch a successful assault on the Golraten to rid them once and for all. A tasking challenge, were sure you will agree.
As a single player game, Thandor takes place across twenty intense missions. Soon after you begin your quest you will quickly succumb to the activity that takes place on the environment. Locations can be extremely hostile and can often feature moving lava and snowfalls that can even influence the outcome of a battle. However, the opposition is the real threat posed in the game. The AI of the enemy units is often devious and can even react to surrounding conditions. Such a well-implemented feature improves the challenge of Thandor considerably. There are 64 fully animated units that position themselves strategically among the huge 3D buildings. Complex environments like this provoke unpredictable outcomes in battle, and while this may not appeal to the single player, it works perfectly with the games multi-player function. Two to eight players can participate in this option and additional missions are available to download online for those with Internet capability.
There is a lot to do in Thandor: The Invasion and fortunately, both modes of play have great longevity and engrossing gameplay.
