Summary

C3 Racing features some of the latest and greatest cars from the world’s most famous manufacturers. Now you have the chance to drive these examples of automotive excellence.

In order to create the most realistic racing game possible, C3 Racing divides the available cars into four championship classes. You begin in the GTI Amateur Class. You can only select either the Renault Clio or the Nissan Micra to start with. However, you should know that just because these cars are not top of the range sports cars doesn’t mean they’re not fast. You’ll be surprised how competitive they can be. Progression to subsequent classes is made by achieving success in the racing season. Only then can you enter into the High Performance Amateur, GTI Pro and High Performance Pro categories. There are some exotic locations to race through, including Peru, Indonesia, and well, the United Kingdom. I suppose that Northumbria could be deemed exotic if you’ve been living in the subway.

Overall, despite looking a little dated, C3 Racing rattles along at a fair old pace, and it’s a lot of fun to play, especially in two-player mode. There are a few unexpected twists and turns in the shape of stretches of water and ancient buildings to avoid, just to keep things interesting. A word of warning though, to all you race fans out there:C3 Racing is Max Power Racing in all but name. But then again, Max Power Racing is a damn fine game.
