Summary

While the real-time strategy (RTS) genre itself is not diverse, the theme of the game is one of the few aspects that can be left entirely to the imagination of the developers. From Red Alert to Tropico, these games are vastly imaginative. But now, PAN Interactive has published Submarine Titans, a RTS game not surprisingly based upon the Submarine industry.

As a RTS game, Submarine Titans features many typical gameplay aspects, such as Single-player missions, Campaigns and online connectivity. But within these missions, the player is free to develop new AI opponents. Players can either base their new enemies upon existing creations or create completely new ones, allowing the player to set the difficulty of their game.

Getting around the world of RTS can be complex task at the best of times. Vast numbers of keyboard controls are often required and it’s easy for the player to get confused. But Submarine Titans possesses a variety of customisable short cuts, again allowing the player to control the game on their own terms.

Combat plays a heavy part in Submarine Titans, consisting of over 70 different units, each with their own unique attributes, such as mobility and firepower. But you must use your strategy skills to construct and expand your civilisation into a high defence/high offence nation. The task isn’t easy, but with all the customisable features mentioned above, Submarine Titans should appeal to gamers of any skill.
