West Racing

West Racing was formed in March 1997. The two directors, Chris and Tony West were previously at King of the Jungle Ltd., a company they had formed two years earlier.

As the name suggests, the company has been formed with the prime objective of producing racing titles, which is an area which holds considerable interest for both the West brothers as well as being an area in which the company has already established a name for itself with the highly acclaimed ‘Street Racer’.

In order to finance the start-up, a small percentage of the company was sold to a very select group of investors. Although not actively involved in the day to day running of the company, they all show a keen interest and are kept up to date with any developments.

The company is a small and compact setup. Currently the only full time employees are Chris and Tony themselves, with any additional work being carried out by subcontractors. Although limited in size, the experience within the company is impressive with over 30 years experience in the industry between them. During that time, Chris and Tony have worked on over 40 titles between them.

West Racing also has close ties with a number of development houses, both in this country and abroad. All of these development teams have an understanding with each other that if one team can help another they will, be it code sharing, problem solving, consultancy or just man power. This gives West Racing, as well as the other teams, the advantages of being small and compact, but also the comfort of being able to draw upon a wealth of talent at anytime.
