Summary

The easiest way to sum up the feel of Raid: World War II is arguably as the videogames answer to Inglorious Basterds, a thoroughly over the top (and tongue-in-cheek) Nazi-killing party. The mechanism through which this concept is delivered is a co-operative first-person shooter.

Developer Lion Game Lion has some history with this sort of game, having contributed mission content to the critically acclaimed heist game Payday 2, and the format will feel familiar to anyone who played it. You'll run a series of missions that blend stealth, sabotage and furious firefights as you level up your character through their skill tree in one of four classes - Recon, Assault, Insurgent, or Demolitions.

There are a couple of options that deepen the range of missions, too. Operations Mode enables players to play extended versions of their favourite missions in a chained series of highly modified raids, with new storylines and added content and objectives. There are also Challenge Cards, which enable players to customise the rules of a raid. If you want to kill yourself a few Nazis, Raid: World War II certainly offers you plenty of ways to do it!

As an added treat, the game even features the voice talent of none other than legendary English actor John Cleese!
