Summary

Konami has left nothing untouched in this year's Pro Evolution Soccer. No piece of turf has been left unturned. The game offers a veritable checklist of answers to fan's demands, and this level of attention can be seen in everything from headline features to fine tweaks to mechanics and visuals.

The biggest and most important change, however, is to the game's pace. The meandering keep-ball tactics of the AI are out and frenetic counters borrowed from the playbooks of teams like Atletico Madrid and Leicester City are in. That makes for a far greater range of play styles on the field that focus on speed, skill and movement and intelligent play is duly rewarded. The AI is more reactive, and you get the sense that it's learning from your actions and adapting accordingly, rather than holding fast to pre-defined tactics.

The animation has been given an overhaul, too. Real Capture has been used to re-work movement starting at core movement such as walking and posture then working out from there. Similar attention to detail has been brought to bear on the environments, with enhancements made to everything from day and night lighting to the turf.

Changes have been made to online modes, too. PES League now extends to new modes including myClub, Random Selection Matches and all-new online co-op for 2v2 or 3v3 games!
