Summary

Over the last few years LEGO has broken out from its status of iconic toy brand to blockbuster (excuse the pun) entertainment brand. It started with LEGO videogame versions of Star Wars and quickly expanded to encompass the likes of Batman, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, before entering the toys-to-life genre with LEGO Dimensions and, more recently, leaped to the big screen with The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie. What's perhaps a little surprising, however, is the fact that for all those LEGO games, we've yet to have a title that really focuses on building.

LEGO Worlds addresses that gap in a big way, in a move that may even give the mighty Minecraft a run for its money. In it, you can build to your heart's desire using tools that enable you to alter huge swathes of the landscape in one fell swoop or to build things up, brick by brick.

A major advantage that this LEGO build-it-yourself title has, though, is the fact that you can populate your world with a huge number of LEGO models, from cowboys to vampires to giraffes to polar bears. Also included are vehicles, and developer TT Games has quite a liberal interpretation of the word 'vehicle' - they range from racing cars to steamrollers to massive digging machines to dragons!

Or, if you prefer, you can instead choose to wander the procedurally generated landscape and uncover the wonders within it.

You can export your creations and save them to use them again or even (because this is a LEGO game, after all) bring in a friend to explore them in local splitscreen or with online multiplayer.
