Summary

Missing out the Rolling Thunder supplement strangely enough, the Blitzkrieg Strategy Collection is hardly the definitive word in the series, but'll nevertheless keep you going for longer than the six years that WWII took...possibly.

Blitzkrieg is the fine art of strategy with Soviet, German and western Allied campaigns with more than 80 missions. You can dissect the enemy with surgical precision, halt the enemy's advance with strategic tank and air assaults, and maintain offensive momentum. Prove tactical skills by triumphing in various historical campaigns during World War II and then stick the Burning Horizons CD in the drive for more.

Burning Horizons throws the player into even more dramatic battles of WWII. Offering a huge 18-missions-campaign around General Rommel, players have the opportunity to play famous battles like Ardennes, Tripolis, Tobruk, El Alamein, Sicily and, of course, Normandy. Furthermore, the add-on contains 8 single missions, with an entire new nation at war: Japan.

50 new units like Zero fighters and Blenheim bombers, the M5 Stuart and many specialised German tanks, US Marines and Afrika Korps units fill the strategy package. Burning Horizon gives the parties better AI: the enemy seeks weak spots in the lines, clears minefields, and handles his air force cleverly. The mission objectives offer a wide range, e.g. airborne assaults, evacuations, covert ops, defences manoeuvres, counter attacks or assassinations.
